6' Fast Mount Standard
This is a 6' long "Fast Mount Standard" shelf rack bar. It is made from galvanized steel, so you will never have to worry about rust. You can purchase ones which are painted, but they tend to be more expensive, and scratch rather easily. There are several 5/16" round holes up the length of the rack, as well as a series of oblong side-by-side slots (which is where the shelf brackets hook in, and where you actually mount your equipment). These are the "legs" of the rack.

You will most likely need to re-drill the 5/16" holes for the bolts to attach the shelves with. They were not quite large enough. I enlarged them just a bit by using the 5/16" drill bit.

2' x 2' 3/4" Plywood
These are 2' x 2' wide, 3/4" thick, plywood sheets. These will be the shelves on your equipment rack. Do not use anything less thick than 3/4", or you will run the risk of warping from the weight that will be placed upon them. Also, I used the standard grade of plywood. It is possible to purchase higher grade, made from hardwood (oak or birch), but they cost almost 5 times as much per sheet, and will increase the cost of your rack signifigantly. Also, you may elect to purchase a single 4' x 8' sheet of plywood, but it will add a lot of time to your project since you will be doing a *lot* more cutting. I suggest sticking with the 2' x 2' sheets.

8" Utility Shelf Brackets
These are standard 8" shelf brackets, that quick-mount into the "fast mount standard" rack (listed above). I chose the ones made of galvanized steel, to match the other metal in the rack. These will hold the shelf that the keyboard sits on.

Rustoleum High Heat Spray Paint
This spray paint is black, and is designed for "High Heat" surfaces (such as bbq grills) and will withstand temperatures of up to 1200 degrees. While your equipment will certainly never reach this temperature level (one would hope!), I chose to use this product because once applied, it almost *never* gets scratched. It also does not have a "gloss" finish, so your surface ends up almost as a "no slip" type, and also will have an almost professional look. Feel free to use cheaper paint at your own risk. Your shelves will be painted with this.

Black Duct Tape
This is just a standard roll of "Duck Tape" brand black "duct" tape. It will be used to edge your shelves to prevent splinters, and to give the shelves a more professional look.

Keyboard Shelf
This last item (which I forgot to take a photo of) is just a standard 2' long shelf, which fits the 8" Utility Shelf Brackets listed above. I already had one, so I didn't purchase one, but I would imagine they are less than $5.00.
